Cette volont\u00e9 d&#8217;informer, ce remarquable\u00a0savoir faire ont produit une oeuvre construite et boulversante.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ffffff;\">Le choix et la qualit\u00e9 des images. Des calcaires noirs du Delta du Fleuve Rouge, aux pistes qui s&#8217;enfoncent comme des tunnels sous les arbres g\u00e9ants de la for\u00eat pr\u00e9historique. De la violence des combats frontaux dans les rizi\u00e8res aux affrontements sporadiques de la gu\u00e9rilla. La douceur des paysages d&#8217;Annan avec leurs plages blanches qui s&#8217;\u00e9tirent le long de la mer, et la beaut\u00e9 onduleuse et fragile des filles du M\u00e9kong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ffffff;\">Et soudain, le malheur des armes. Dien Bien Phu. Les soldats d&#8217;\u00e9lite qui avaient failli faire basculer le sort de la guerre, qui avaient \u00e9tonn\u00e9 le monde par la force de leur courage d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9, avaient enfonc\u00e9 leurs fusils dans la boue, fait sauter leurs canons et cess\u00e9 le feu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ffffff;\">Avant d&#8217;entrer en longs convois de mis\u00e8re dans l&#8217;ombre \u00e9touffante d&#8217;une jungle opaque et meurtri\u00e8re&#8230; \u00e0 la rencontre de tortionnaires op\u00e9rateurs d&#8217;une nouvelle technique de &lt;&lt;retournement des cerveaux&gt;&gt;, technique lancinante, oppressive, impitoyable, ponctu\u00e9e de brutalit\u00e9s, de privations, avec l&#8217;obstination implacable d&#8217;an\u00e9antir tout ce qui rattache un homme \u00e0 ses racines, \u00e0 son identit\u00e9, pour le briser et le d\u00e9tacher de son groupe. Les soldats, les caporaux, les sergents, regroup\u00e9s mais s\u00e9par\u00e9s de leurs officiers, mourront plus vite et en plus grand nombre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ffffff;\">Sur ces \u00e9v\u00e8nements, oubli\u00e9s des chroniqueurs et des gouvernants frapp\u00e9s d&#8217;amn\u00e9sie, le film <em>Face \u00e0 la mort<\/em> apporte un r\u00e9cit qui les raccorde \u00e0 l&#8217;origine de la guerre, des images qui en situent le cadre et les t\u00e9moignages des survivants rest\u00e9s trop longtemps silencieux. Avec la pudeur et la tristesse de combattants sans reproche, remplis de courage, humili\u00e9s pourtant au plus profond d&#8217;eux-m\u00eames, marqu\u00e9s \u00e0 vie par un ennemi inhumain et d&#8217;un dogmatisme proche de la d\u00e9mence. Bless\u00e9s d&#8217;avoir surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 cet enfer. Escort\u00e9s par leurs milliers de camarades morts dans les plus affreuses conditions. Abandonn\u00e9s aux b\u00eates dans la for\u00eat vierge, jet\u00e9s au fond d&#8217;une mare ou d&#8217;une rivi\u00e8re, dans des lieux o\u00f9 personne ne retrouvera leur s\u00e9pulture.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ffffff;\"><em><br \/>\nFace \u00e0 la mort<\/em> remplit un devoir de m\u00e9moire, lave les prisonniers de l&#8217;opprobe injustifi\u00e9e\u00a0qui pesait sur eux,\u00a0ces soldats perdus dont nous avons oubli\u00e9 les visages et les noms.\u00a0Leurs fr\u00e8res d&#8217;armes qui parlent dans ce film font revivre la terrible aventure, avec respect, comme on rentre en pri\u00e8re face \u00e0 Dieu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #ffffff;\"><em>Face \u00e0 la mort<\/em>.
